History in the Civil Rights Movement
While we are proudly “progressive,” we also like to think of ourselves as having old-fashioned Jesus values. We believe in celebrating diversity and welcoming all people (regardless of whom they love or how they identify), doing our part to protect the planet, and fighting alongside the “least of these.” We believe in a God that is still speaking, a faith that is all-loving and inclusive, a Church that welcomes and accepts all, and a ministry where your mind is nourished as much as your soul. We are First Community Church. Welcome home!
We are a church where Jesus the healer meets Jesus the revolutionary, and where together, we grow a just and peaceful world.
Join us 1st Sundays at 11am for worship at Hope Cottage (or watch portions of the service on our YouTube Channel). On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays, join us at 11am on Zoom for Coffee & Conversation the link is in a button on the watch page. When a month has a 5th Sunday we come together at the Church office building to have fellowship and assemble donations for community partners. Every Friday morning at 9am we meet at the Church office building for prayers and then go out for breakfast. We also get together for picnics, bowling and pizza, wandering and wondering, art club and game get togethers.

We believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful change. That’s why we partner with other community organizations to amplify our impact, share resources, and work together toward a just and compassionate society.
