First Community Church has been openly advocating for the LGBTQ+ community for over 20 years. We practice extravagant welcome for all, no matter who you are, how you identify, or whom you love. Many of our members and leaders, including our pastor, are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

We have participated in the AIDS Walk South Dallas and given financial support to Youth First Texas, White Rock Friends (for People Living with HIV/AIDS), and Abounding Prosperity.

We also provide financial support to the GSA Network Clubs at our local high schools and are working with local LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and allies to expand our programming for our LGBTQ+ neighbors in Far East Dallas.

When we renovated our building on Ferguson Road, we made it fully ADA compliant. Hope Cottage has a ramp and elevator. The sliding glass door entry to the Caddo Building (church office) has a ramp. Several of our members live with physical or neurological disabilities, and we are always working to expand access. With notice, noise reduction headphones, hearing enhancement devices and sign language interpretation may be provided. The church is not complete with access to all.
